We've had a couple of these little critters, but this one is by far the best. It just kind of fell into our laps. We had given up our search and figured that another bug wasn't going to happen. But what the heck, this one looked too good to pass up! We picked it up on October 7, 2003 from a person just across the border in Post Falls, Idaho. He had just finished with the full, body off, restoration last spring. He needed some cash and was willing to deal. We're now the happy owners.
It's a 1970 VW Convertible. It's been fully restored with new top, carpet, paint, and upholstery.
Here's a few photos of the new insect:

A look at the back (that Idaho plate is going soon)
The squirrels live in here.
(By the way, this photo is closer to the actual color than the ones
above)
Check out these bumpers! We bit the bullet and had the original
equipment
bumpers re-chromed. Not cheap, but much better looking.
Here's a look at the new-old rear bumper.
(and the Washington State Collector Car plate)
Here it is tucked away in our shop.
All decorated for the 2006 St. Patrick's Day parade.
We missed this in 2005 because the Bug wasn't back from the shop.
We carried the Irish Woman of the Year, Judi Jasperson, (they spelled her first
name wrong on the sign).
Judi owns "Judi's Place Tavern in Spokane. She was a fun passenger and
enjoyed her Bug ride.
Drat. No pictures from 2007 and we had Mark Rypien in the Bug.
In 2008, it was Spokane Shock owner Brady Nelson and family.
The Irish "Colleens" rode in 2009.
In 2010, it was Julie Moyer-Nesbitt. We went to high school together.
