Our Newest Project

After 21 years in this house, it was time for a change.  Plus, we wanted some extra room for our toy collection.
We thought about moving to a larger lot and building a large shop/garage but we couldn't find a lot anywhere near civilization.

The answer:

Trash the back yard and build a big garage/shop!

Before....

We took out some shrubs and....sadly...two 100+ year old pine trees.

We checked around and settled on Town and Country Steel Buildings for our project.

They delivered the stuff.

Dug the holes, put up the poles, and poured cement to hold them up.

Some framing and the roof trusses ready to be hoisted up to the top.

Ready for the metal.

So, what do you think?  Here we are on 4/17/04.

Looking good from the north.

The northwest corner.

More to come as we pour the concrete floor, add electricity, and fill it full of stuff.

How about some concrete?

All done!

And filled with stuff!

Now we needed a little gravel beside the building.  We rented a Bobcat.  Chris and Shawn had fun driving it.

To replace a couple of shrubs and make the yard more outdoorsy, Shawn designed and built a new pond with a waterfall.

It's still under construction.  As this photo was taken (4/17/04), there was 2,000 pounds of rocks in the back of the truck ready for placement.

The pond and waterfall are done and it is now the home for two Koi gold fish.
